Moi / Hej

My name is David Crunelle, Belgian artist living in Turku, Finland.
Please find here below my proposal for the Naatali Musiikkijuhlat 2024

The visual identity brings together symbolic elements inspired by the village’s distinctive character and music festival into a floral Nordic design.

The color palette draws from the natural beauty of Naantali. Soft blues and greens mirror the sea and landscapes, while warm earthy and green tones reflect the village’s iconic architecture, as well as rich wooden browns and textures, reminiscent of chamber music instruments.

Photographs of Naantali’s iconic landmarks, such as the Naantali Church, or the charming waterfront houses are used in this proposal. These images are framed within the floral Nordic design, seamlessly connecting the village’s architecture and natural beauty.

Chamber music instruments, like violins and cellos, are incorporated into the design, with their curves and shapes integrated into the overall pattern, symbolizing Naantali’s rich relation with the festival.

Textures inspired by wood grain and gentle sea ripples are subtly integrated into the shapes.

Individual elements can be taken for the variations of the visual identity
